As a Principal and Financial Planner at Dogwood Wealth Management, my primary responsibilities include advising clients on various financial planning areas, specializing in financial planning and retirement planning with a strong focus on tax strategies and estate planning. With over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry, I previously worked at Barber Financial Group. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Missouri State University and have obtained the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation.
Every day in this field is different, and I genuinely enjoy meeting new people and building lasting relationships. The team we are building at Dogwood Wealth Management is incredible, and our company's culture is something I am most proud of. We've experienced remarkable growth, and I'm excited to see what our team is capable of.
What I most enjoy about my job is the uniqueness of each day and the opportunity to work with a fantastic team. As our team continues to grow, enabling us to offer our services to more families, the relationships we have with our existing clients remain at the forefront of my mind. While we excel in the technical aspects – such as tax planning, projections, estate planning, and investments – I believe the greatest value we provide is guidance and helping clients be intentional with their money.
I currently live in my hometown of Kansas City, Missouri, with my wife, Lauren, and our two children, Remi Jo and Mick. Outside of work, I have been actively involved with the Kansas City chapter of the Financial Planning Association since 2016, holding various positions on the board, most recently as chapter president. It's a great organization where I've met like-minded professionals in financial services. We also support local organizations such as Sunflower House and Children's Mercy Hospital. In my free time, I love to be with my wife and children, whether we are traveling to the beach or having a dance party to Disney songs in our living room. I also enjoy being outdoors. Additionally, I have a passion for home brewing beer, finding both the science of brewing and the creative aspects of recipe creation fascinating.
